Save Fresno Unified is a partnership between Fresno Citizens for Good Government and the citizen advisory group who produced the “Choosing our Future” report. "Choosing our Future" is a plan to turn Fresno Unified from one of the worst school districts in the nation to what we hope will become one of the best. Nothing is more important to the future prosperity of our community. Our purpose is to monitor progress of the District and to encourage community support for this ambitious and vitally important turn-around effort.

Core Beliefs and Commitments

The District is guided by the following core beliefs and commitments adopted by the Board of education in the Spring of 2007
 


  • Every student can and must learn at grade level and beyond.
  • Teachers must demonstrate the ability and desire to educated each child at a high level.
  • Leaders must perform courageously and ethically to accomplish stated goals.
  • A safe learning environment is crucial to student learning.
  • Fresno Unified is a place where:

    • Diversity is valued,
    • Educational excellence and equity is expected.
    • Individual responsibility and participation by all is required,
    • Collaborative adult relationships are essential, and
    • Parents, students and the community as a whole are vital partners.
